ARIA HMI · FAQ

Frequently asked questions about ARIA HMI.

What industrial buyers, IT teams, and production managers ask most often about ARIA HMI: integration, security, deployment, roadmap. If your question isn't here, let's talk.

Does it work offline, or does it always need a server connection?
ARIA HMI is a web app but does not depend on SCADA or the Data Gateway to function. It connects to the PLC via ARIA Connector — as long as the PLC and Connector are up, the HMI works. If the SCADA goes down, the station keeps producing.
Which PLC protocols does it support?
OPC UA (any compatible PLC) and S7 (native Siemens). Profinet, Profibus, and EtherCAT come through the PLC itself. For atypical cases we write a custom connector (a few hundred lines) without touching the rest of the platform.
Can I use it on existing industrial panels?
Yes, it's a web app. It runs on Siemens Comfort Panels, Beijer panels, industrial Android tablets, any machine with a modern browser. Touch-first by default.
How do you secure PLC writes?
Every write passes through ARIA Connector, authenticated and validated. The PLC is reachable only from within the OT network. ARIA Core (server-side) can reject writes based on process rules. Full audit log at the Data Gateway level.
Can we brand the look for our company?
Yes. Themes, colors, logo, and layout of ARIA HMI are configurable per installation. We keep the interaction patterns (touch-first, two-tap ACK) to minimize training.
How many operators in parallel per station?
Typically one at a time per physical station. Multiple HMIs can connect to the same station (e.g. a secondary setup console). Separate user sessions, per-user audit.
