Single contract · turnkey

Turnkey industrial automation, from the process to the machine in production.

Bring us a production problem and we deliver the solution that solves it: special machines, end-of-line systems and complete lines, designed, built and commissioned. The mechanical side is built with a network of engineering and manufacturing partners; automation, software and data are ours. For you it is one contract, and IOMA answers for the whole project.

Why turnkey

One contract, one contact

From the first site visit to acceptance you deal with one person, and IOMA answers for the whole project: not four quotes to reconcile and four suppliers to align when something doesn't add up.

The machine is integrated from day one

PLCs, HMI, safety and data collection are designed together with the mechanics, not bolted on later. The link to MES, ERP and WMS is part of the supply, not a second project.

Siemens PLC · HMI · OPC UA · MES/SCADA · ERP

CE marking and documentation included

Risk assessment, operating and maintenance manuals, declaration of conformity and CE marking are part of the delivery. The machine arrives ready to produce, not ready to be brought up to standard.

Machinery Directive · EU Regulation 2023/1230

Ready for Industry 4.0 connectivity

Connection to plant systems and remote diagnostics are the requirements for Italian capital-goods incentives: we design them in from the start rather than certifying them afterwards.

What we deliver

Process engineering

Before the machine, the process: cycle times, flows, layout, changeovers, the choice between manual, semi-automatic and automatic. Sometimes the best solution is simpler than the one you had in mind, and it pays to know before building it.

Cycle-time analysis · layout · changeover · feasibility study

Special machines

Custom machines for assembly, inspection and testing: part feeding, insertion and screwdriving, in-line measurement and quality control, functional test benches.

Assembly · screwdriving · feeders · vision · test benches

End-of-line and material handling

Conveyors, accumulation and buffers, spirals, tippers and diverters that link machines together and carry the product through to packing and palletising.

Conveyors · FIFO buffers · spirals · end-of-line · palletising

Complete lines and revamping

Several stations working as one plant, at production rate; or an existing line brought back up to date, with mechanics, panels and software redone together instead of one at a time.

Assembly lines · revamping · retrofit · linking stations

How we work
  1. Site visit and process analysis

We come to the plant, look at the process, measure times and constraints. The outcome is a feasibility study with the proposed solution, lead time and a price: no cost until signing.

  2. Mechanical, electrical and software design

3D design, wiring diagrams, automation and data architecture, risk assessment. We review the design together before building.

  3. Build and factory acceptance

The machine is built and tested in the workshop with your parts (FAT), so problems are found before it reaches your floor.

  4. Installation and commissioning

Installation in your plant, start-up, site acceptance test (SAT) and training for operators and maintenance staff.

  5. Data and support in production

Remote support, spare parts, service; and if needed the machine talks to ARIA, our MES/SCADA platform, from day one.

Who does what

IOMA, main contractor

Process analysis, overall design, automation, robots, software and data, project management, testing and commissioning. You answer to us, and we answer to you.

Our partner network

Builders we work with on our projects, chosen by type of machine: mechanical design, construction, pneumatics and hydraulics, electrical panels.

You

One contract, one contact, one acceptance test. No interfaces between suppliers to manage.

What we have done

Stand-alone stations turned into one line

See the case

More than 15 stations from an electric-motor machine builder coordinated into a single plant, at series-production rate.

CM Srl · Automotive · E-mobility

Multi-product line: changeover from 45 to 8 minutes

See the case

We took over a stalled line from another supplier: several variants on the same structure, recipes from the ERP.

CM Srl · Automotive

Emergency revamping of a handling line

See the case

A line for leavened bakery products had stopped, with end-of-life controls: back in production in two months with new PLC, safety and software.

For machine builders

Turnkey solutions are for manufacturers. If you build the machines yourself, we work inside your machine, not in its place: PLCs, motion, HMI, robots, on-board software and supervision, as we have done for years with builders of machines and lines.

FAQ

What does turnkey automation mean?

It means you receive a complete, working solution instead of parts to assemble: IOMA designs the process and the machine, has it built, automates it, installs it and commissions it in your plant. One contract, one contact, and the machine delivered with CE marking, documentation and training.

Who builds the mechanical part?

A network of mechanical engineering and manufacturing partners that IOMA works with on its projects, chosen by type of machine. IOMA remains the main contractor: overall design, automation, software, testing and support are ours, and we answer for the result.

Does the machine carry CE marking?

Yes: in complete supplies CE marking and documentation — operating and maintenance manuals, declaration of conformity, diagrams — are included, under the Machinery Directive and, for machines placed on the market from 20 January 2027, EU Regulation 2023/1230.

Do you also work on existing lines and machines?

Yes: revamping and retrofit are one of IOMA's four families of solutions. We redo the mechanics, panels and software of an existing line together, or connect it to new machines. Feasibility, downtime and conformity obligations are defined up front, because they depend on how deep the change goes.

How long does it take to get the machine?

It depends on complexity. The feasibility study follows the site visit and already includes lead time and price; a special machine typically takes a few months across design, build and factory acceptance.

Can we start with process engineering only?

Yes. Process analysis can be a stand-alone study that IOMA delivers with requirements, alternatives and layout, before deciding which machines or changes to build.

Do you also do just the automation of a machine?

Yes, it has always been IOMA's core work: Siemens PLC programming, robotics, HMI and MES/SCADA can also be ordered separately.

Got a project in mind?

Describe the line and the problem on a 30-minute technical call: we tell you straight away whether it's in our wheelhouse. We typically reply within 24 hours. From the first call to commissioning, you speak to the same person.
